'The Dark' is the second book in the series of GUARDIANS.OF.TIME. The first book is 'The Named' and the third book is 'The Key'. From what I got to know in this book, it is about an army called 'The Guard' trying to protect the world from another army called 'The Order' but otherwise known as 'The Order of Chaos' since the leader is Lathenia the Goddess of Chaos and her brother Lorian is he leader of The Guard.
Now, the mastermind of The Guard is Arkarian (everyone finds out at the end of the book that he is Lorian's son), so in this book, Lathenia tries to get hold of Arkarian in order to kill him. Nobody in the world knows about these two armies except for the member themselves. Lathenia mainly wants revenge from The Guard, because they killed her loved one Marduke. The people whose lives are being represented in the book are Isabel and Arkarian. Lathenia manages to kidnap Arkarian when he return from a mission. She takes him to the Underworld (where she lives) and tortures him. Then, plans a mission to kill Arkarian at birth which fails miserably, thanks to the guard. In the rest of the story, Isabel, her brother Matt, and their trainer Ethan venture in the Underworld to try to find Arkarian.
An interesting book which I would recommend for you to read. I have left out many, many details and facts, but if I would have wanted to tell you, I might as well have take a soft copy of the book and posted it on this blog. For every single sentence has something or the other which enhances the story. That is why you should read the book which you find interesting and not just read a review!
