If you have read my review of Magyk, let me tell you she was deposited at a family's doorstep. It wasn't random, it was the family Marcia (who was now the Extra Ordinary Wizard because Alther was dead) hated the most- The Heaps. Silas Heap (the father) hated Marcia, because he would have gotten the apprenticeship to Alther if his family had not needed being taken care of. Since, he could not have become Alther's apprentice, Marcia asked Alther and she had gotten it. Since that day Marcia and Silas loathed each other. Well anyway, the whole of the Heap family did not know the princess was the princess until her 10th birthday. they had named the baby girl Jenna. Jenna Heap.

There was once an ancient legend that said that the seventh son of the seventh son, would be the most powerful wizard ever seen in this world. Silas Heap is the seventh son, and as soon as Septimus is born, some weird lady called the mid-wife burst into the room and wraps the child in a linen cloth and runs out of the door screaming "Dead! Dead!" (How rude is that! Don't wizard learn about manners?) Apparently, wizards don't have much common sense either as Sarah Heap (the mother) did not lock the door in the first place and any normal person would have run like crazy if something like that happened! The reason behind the mid-wife doing that was she was working for DomDaniel- the most evil wizard on earth. Since, he heard about the ancient legend, he planned to kidnap Septimus and take him as his own apprentice. Now, the mid-wife had also given birth to a son on the same day, so she put the two boys in cots that were next to each other. Apparently she was late, so the assistant DomDaniel sent wasflustered and in a hurry to get the child. In the process of her hurry, she mixed up the children and took the mid-wife's son. Septimus ended up surviving and she still thought septimus was her son and sent his to the young army where a person is suppposed to stay there without knowing who their parents
