I’m sure you know about the most recent mission to mars –
MOM (Mars Orbiter Mission). We have always been intrigued by Mars. Questions
such as ‘Is there life on Mars?’ and ‘Can we live on Mars’ have been raised.
To answer these questions scientists from all over the world have
sent orbiters and rovers into space. Yes, many countries have already sent orbiters, but
why is the orbiter that India sent become such big news? Well my fellow Indians, be
proud as the orbiter sent by our country has been captured by the Martian
atmosphere on its first attempt! The most developed and rich countries like USA, UK, Russia,
China, France, Japan, etc. were successful only around their 15th attempts.
Our orbiter named ‘Mangalayan’ reached on 24th of September.
Our orbiter named ‘Mangalayan’ reached on 24th of September.
This as many people would say is the
proudest moment in India’s space history. Not only did we make it in the first attempt, the cost at which we managed to do it is incomparably low.
ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) did a marvelous job.
